Discover Fandoq

If you’re wandering through Westbury, New York, and craving a spot that blends comfort food with a welcoming atmosphere, Fandoq is a place that instantly stands out. Located at 1610 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590, United States, this diner manages to feel both familiar and special at the same time. Walking through the doors, you’re greeted with the rich aroma of freshly cooked dishes, a mixture of savory spices, and the faintly sweet scent of baked goods from the kitchen. From my first visit, I noticed that the ambiance strikes a balance between casual and cozy-perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends.

The menu at Fandoq is extensive and thoughtfully crafted. One of the aspects I appreciate most is the way each dish feels personal, almost like the chefs are inviting you to their own dining table. The breakfast options are hearty, featuring everything from classic eggs and bacon to more inventive choices like loaded avocado toast paired with house-made sauces. Lunch and dinner fare includes well-prepared sandwiches, fresh salads, and generous portions of pasta and grilled meats. On a busy weekday, I tried their signature chicken parm with a side of garlic mashed potatoes, and the blend of flavors reminded me of traditional Italian-American cooking I grew up with, but with a refined touch that makes it feel unique.

During a weekend visit, I noticed families, couples, and solo diners sharing the space, all seemingly comfortable in the diner’s relaxed vibe. This mix of guests reflects Fandoq’s appeal-it's not just a place to eat but a spot where people genuinely enjoy spending time. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, often providing recommendations or explaining ingredients, which adds to the sense of reliability and trustworthiness. For instance, when I asked about the vegan options, the server guided me through dishes that were both satisfying and nutritionally balanced, demonstrating a clear understanding of dietary needs and customer care.

Research on local dining trends highlights that diners increasingly value freshness, transparency, and a welcoming environment, and Fandoq excels in all three areas. According to a recent study by the National Restaurant Association, over 70% of diners say that menu transparency and ingredient quality influence their decision to return to a restaurant. Fandoq’s commitment to sourcing fresh ingredients and presenting them in approachable yet flavorful ways aligns perfectly with these insights.

One memorable detail is the way the kitchen manages orders during peak hours. Observing their process, it’s clear that efficiency and quality are priorities-they handle multiple tables without compromising taste or presentation. This level of organization reminds me of a case study on high-performing restaurants, which emphasizes that operational precision paired with strong customer engagement directly impacts guest satisfaction and loyalty.

Another standout feature is Fandoq’s dessert offerings. The chocolate lava cake and homemade pies are often praised in local reviews, and experiencing them firsthand, I can see why. The desserts are indulgent without being overly sweet, which is a delicate balance many diners struggle to achieve. It’s clear that the chefs not only focus on main courses but also understand the importance of a memorable finish to the meal.

For anyone exploring Westbury, the location at 1610 Old Country Rd makes Fandoq easily accessible, with ample parking and a welcoming exterior that invites curiosity. The combination of diverse menu options, friendly service, and a homey atmosphere ensures that each visit feels worthwhile. Personally, after multiple trips, I’ve found that Fandoq consistently delivers both on taste and experience, making it a reliable choice whether I’m grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a longer meal with friends.

  • I took my parents out for an early dinner here and we were pleasantly surprised! I have been meaning to try this place for a while and it was worthwhile. We ordered the sultani and lamb shank and they came out perfectly delicious. The portion size was decent and we were able to split 2 dishes among 3 of us without a problem. I also enjoyed the persian ice cream! The service was great too despite us being the only ones there. It would be nice to see a lunch menu added for early birds.

  • Late lunch. Food was magnificent. Great portions, deliciously seasoned. I had a vegetarian dish, Sautéed Vegetables which came with a perfectly made Basmati Rice. All was served with grille Pita bread. Also have an appetizer, Salad Olivia: chicken, potato, egg; that may sound unusual but its delicious with pita bread and Persian pickles. Finished with Chocolate Mousse cake and really great coffee.

  • After conducting an online search, my family and I decided to dine at this establishment this evening. We were pleased to find that it was not busy upon our arrival, and we were promptly seated. However, within a few minutes, the restaurant became quite crowded. For our appetizer, we selected the NOON PANEER GERDO, which we found to be absolutely delicious. The ingredients were perfectly balanced, resulting in a delightful flavor. For our main course, we ordered the lamb chops and juje chicken, accompanied by brown rice. We also ordered the grilled vegetable kababs, which were exceptionally tasty. I highly recommend this vegetable dish; it is truly a must-try. All of our selections were very flavorful. The service was both efficient and friendly, and the staff was exceptionally welcoming. Additionally, the restaurant offers a full bar. The Persian ambiance was beautifully presented. We certainly plan to return again.

  • This was our first time in this restaurant. We loved the vibe and courteous staff. We tried the day's dish, a minion filet with ground lamb. It was Kabab Torsh (sour) style, like those from the North of Iran. It had a creative and unique taste of smoky with a pomegranate sweet, along with basil and crushed walnuts. Strongly recommend.

  • We ordered Soltani and it was good. The guy who was serving the customers was quite friendly and fluent in both English and Persian. Fandoq is for sure one of the best options for those who loves Persian cuisine in Long Island area.

  • FandoQ is very cozy, and we loved the music. We came to see a show at Flagstar and wanted to try something different — this place was the perfect choice. We started with the eggplant and pita, and it was to die for. We ordered a Sauvignon Blanc; a glass was $15, but the bottle was only $39, so it made more sense to get the bottle — and we’re glad we did. The platter was absolutely incredible. The vegetables, the meat — everything was seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing. I even complimented the staff on how great it was. The Persian tea at the end was also delicious. We loved everything and definitely recommend this place. We’ll be back!

  • This is the first time we ate at FandoQ. Ray was extremely gracious upon entering the restaurant. The restaurant has tablecloths and cloth napkins, which I greatly appreciate (I honestly dislike when a restaurant puts the paper on the table). All of our food, including the appetizers were displayed beautifully. Every dish that came out was a work of art. The food was absolutely cooked to perfection. The main courses we had were Basa fillet, which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We also had lamb chops, Barg (steak)and butterfly trout. The rice is made with saffron, and that was exceptionally yummy. We ended our dinner with baklava which was warm and incredible. I highly recommend this neighborhood gem if you want to enjoy a wonderful dinner with delicious flavors.

  • My friend and I had a delightful experience at this Mediterranean restaurant in Westbury, New York. We visited it on a Friday evening around 5 o’clock and were surprised to find the restaurant nearly empty, with only one other table occupied by a birthday celebration. The restaurant’s location at the crossroads of Merrick Avenue and Old Country Road made it easy to access, with plenty of parking available. Despite its small size, FandoQ had a cozy and neat atmosphere, decorated with beautiful ethnic paintings on the walls. The manager was exceptionally pleasant and attentive to our needs throughout the evening. For our appetisers, I ordered the Samosa, a fried pastry filled with vegetables and chickpeas, while my friend enjoyed the lentil soup and spinach pie. The portions were generous, so my friend decided to skip the main course, while I savoured the Adana kebab, which was a flavourful and perfectly grilled ground lamb dish served with fluffy white rice. To accompany our meal, my friend opted for Chianti, while I chose a refreshing pomegranate martini. For dessert, we shared a delightful Persian tea and indulged in the baklava and Persian ice cream, which was vanilla-based with pistachios. Throughout our meal, we were serenaded by the soothing music by RilTim, which added to the overall ambiance without being too loud, allowing us to enjoy both the music and our conversation. In conclusion, our experience at FandoQ was exceptional. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was inviting. We would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a meal with friends.
